A video circulates on social networks where the singer Francisco Céspedes attacks the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and wishes him death.

After performing at a concert in Hermosillo, Sonora, the Cuban-Mexican singer-songwriter and musician offered an interview in which he reproached López Obrador for inviting the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to Mexico to celebrate the national holidays, and put it " as the maximum".

Then he revealed that this is why he dislikes the President and said "I hope he dies."

"When one comes to a country that is in great need, when there is a president who invites a Cuban dictator on September 15 and puts him above the..., I don't know, I mean, you can invite any president, but not put it as the maximum, because that's why I don't like that guy very much and I hope he dies," he said.

The event occurred in the jungle area of the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, west of Playa del Carmen and south of Cancun.

After robbing a British couple they were shot, on June 9, a British couple was the victim of an armed attack in the jungle area of Lázaro Cárdenas, Quintana Roo; the man died and the woman was seriously injured.

The victims, who were in a house known as La Esperanza ranch, were identified as Martin Artur Schmidt and Sophie Wiggins.

Ranch workers fled after the arrival of the armed group, and when they returned they found the lifeless man and the woman with gunshot wounds.

As it is an area with difficult access, the Quintana Roo Police had to transfer her by helicopter to the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen.

This Monday the 12th, Óscar Montes de Oca, state attorney general, mentioned that the motive for the attack was robbery.

"Unfortunately, in the face of resistance from abroad, these subjects fired a 9-millimeter caliber firearm against them," the official reported.

So far, no people have been reported arrested for these events.

Staff from the British Consulate in Mexico have been monitoring the situation, and this Monday they were at the hospital where Sophie Wiggins is hospitalized, waiting to repatriate the woman and take away the body of the deceased.
