SECURITY OF CANCUN

 

 

Cancun  is unprotected. Since more than  three  months ago the main tourist destination with close to one million inhabitants, is guarded by only 46 units of the Municipal Secretariat of Public Security.  This lack of patrolling has led to an increase in the burglaries and thefts to home room, crimes that have increased up to 100 percent, due to the fact that there is no presence in the colonias 

The problem is, according to official sources in the Ministry of Public Security, to which resources have been wasted Municipal Grant for Security, Subsemun, which instead of being used for equipment has been used for other things. 

Radiography of the law enforcement agencies of Cancun, which currently stands Park Municipal Police units is 250 units excluding 10 utilizing the head of the agency, Aiza Kaluf Jesus, for his personal use and that of his family. 

Of those 250 patrols, only 46 are in operation, which are distributed in the 12 areas where the city has been divided. Poor planning has, in some cases police sectors have only a patrol to walk about ten blocks. 

In the case of the 10 units serving Kaluf Aiza, these are for staff use practically since only pretend to work, when really they are garrisoned outside their homes and are used to transport their families, especially those weekends.

 

Meanwhile, 80 patrols are found in garages in "constant repair", while 25 have already been written off by considered a total loss to the municipal government.

 

Another factor that exists for less vigilance on the streets of this tourist city, is the fact that patrols and staff are used to operate in the interests of criminal groups that corporation infiltrated, controlled through the "narconóminas ". (source for this)
