* Warns sanctions restarting activities
CANCUN, MX.- The Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) said the company Dolphin Discovery can not perform activities of swimming with dolphins in the Natural Protected Area Reef Puerto Morelos while not having the authorization on Environmental Impact .
The attorney said in a statement that maintain the suspension of the activities of swimming with dolphins in the Moon Palace Hotel, while not consented to the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT).
"This based on the General Law of Ecological Equilibrium and Environmental Protection, which provides in Article 28, section XI that any work and activity undertaken in a Natural Protected Area (ANP), should be authorized on environmental impact issued by the federal authority, "noted in the bulletin.
The dependence recalled that the site where activities are performed with dolphins swimming in the sea area is part of the ANP called Reef Puerto Morelos National Park.

"While the company has authorization for the proposed extension of the Hotel Moon Palace, where construction for the rehabilitation of the pier where the confinement of dolphins was approved, does not provide the activity of swimming with these or any other "
He warned that will remain vigilant, and if the company Dolphin Discovery and Moon Palace Resort violate the provision, a fine of 50 000 minimum wages apply and give sight to the Attorney General's Office (PGR): "PROFEPA verify that no activities are conducted within the dolphinarium and maintain constant surveillance on the site; if you fail to comply with the work stoppage could punish such conduct by a fine of up to 50,000 days of minimum wage, the final total closure and even a criminal complaint with the Attorney General's Office (PGR) is present in against whoever is responsible.
