CANCUN, MX.- The W5 program, broadcast on the CTV television network in Canada, will broadcast on Saturday, March 30, a report on the violence that prevails in Cancun and Riviera Maya, whose dispute between drug cartels puts at risk the citizens of that country.

The special will be broadcast at 19:00 in Toronto, 18 hours in Cancun.

The investigative journalist, Avery Haines, conducted several interviews, including one of the leaders of Mexican cartels competing for territory in the Riviera Maya, with Canadian tourists sometimes caught in the crossfire.

The W5 team was in Quintana Roo from February 11 to 18, just in a week with several bloody events, including the execution at the bar 'La Kuka' in Cancún, located on Avenida José López Portillo, where Five people died and five more were injured.

Avery Haines talked with different people, including public officials, journalists and even members of organized crime.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN. - Two individuals on board motorcycles entered the facilities of the Hotel Generations Riviera Maya, which is located on the federal highway, managing to steal one million 658 thousand pesos from the payroll.

Around 11 o'clock in the morning of this Saturday, it was reported to the emergency services that two people dressed in work vests entered the hotel on a green motorcycle, who were armed and quickly seized the payroll.

Once they achieved their goal, they abandoned motorcycles.

The Municipal Police, elements of the Ministerial, as well as federal police and experts arrived at the scene.

Cancun, QRoo. - Around five o'clock in the morning the emergency services received a call warning about a fire at kilometer 9 of Boulevard Kukulcán, in Plaza Forum, where the Hard Rock Café is, although shortly after it was clarified that the fire was at the Hard Rock Hotel, located at kilometer 14. The fire was controlled and three people were treated with first and second degree burns, as well as a dozen people who inhaled smoke.

Firefighters took four hours to extinguish this incident.
