* Presented citizens complaint against city officials for killing the dog 'Lucky' by way of electrocution

ISLA MUJERES, MX.- society members and representatives of the Committee on Animal Care and Defence, presented on Monday November 3 criminal complaints against c. Canché Pedro Cardena, Joshua Israel Hau Cen, Adrian Magana Cahuich and Cristina Figueroa Medina, workers in the Department of Ecology and Director, respectively, for the murder of a Golden Retriever dog with the most cruel and inhumane method, electrocution.

Local Public Ministry opened the preliminary investigation number 272/2014 to start investigating this act of cruelty, which occurred last October 28, at 7 pm in the anticyclonic shelter.

The complaint was supported by photographs and witnesses who confirmed the embarrassments to head, the director of Ecology and Environment, who ironically is part of the Green Party, who promote wildlife conservation and the environment.



Such representative last season sterilization of dogs and cats, to promote the enforcement of the Animal Welfare Sunday 26 and two days later, on Tuesday, October 28, with impunity violated the law by this act of cruelty.

One of those involved, Canché Pedro Cardena, involved the mayor, Agapito Magaña, as head of the order. This was claimed when confronted.

This legal process took shape thanks to the brave and responsible citizens who dared to report the crime, to provide evidence and confirm the facts even when they risk their job positions and safety, because as is well known is customary in the public administrations take away the work to act correctly, pointing out mistakes made by directors and authorities involved.

These people are asking the public to take into account that social welfare depends on adherence to laws and regulations; likewise report that prefer to lose his job to be accomplices in the crime. However, it would be unfair to violate their rights to work because of enforcing the law, and in this regard, the Committee on Animal Care and Defense (CCDA) broadly supports the respect for labor rights of witnesses, and asks the Municipal authority to omit retaliated against.

☆ ⋆Así same request that they implement the law on the matter, leaving the case of Lucky as an antecedent to never be repeated violent acts of any kind in our community.

The mascot "Lucky", according to his record, he was abandoned by an irresponsible owner in public, condemning him to a life of struggle for daily subsistence for months, which led him to make a living on the street, especially in the Cesar Mendoza elementary School, where children kindly fed, and household waste that stir and let irresponsible citizens anywhere in public.

At this campus, the Department of Ecology captured him, taking him to nursery facilities Mundaka and locked in a box smaller than him because they do not have the necessary facilities to properly maintain these animals.

The Department of Ecology, I breaking the law and ignoring the protocols established in the program for handling pets, Lucky kept in deplorable conditions for several days, not respecting the provisions of the Animal Welfare Act.

Lucky finally paid with his life irresponsibility and lack of awareness of both their own and those who must provide for their welfare, changing the latter, by a cruel and merciless death. (Source: CCDA Isla Mujeres)
