Considering that there was bias in his statements where the fairness of electoral competition is affected, the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) ordered President Andrés Manuel López Obrador this Friday to refrain from making more statements of an electoral nature and to avoid use official communication spaces such as their morning conferences and take advantage of the functions of their position to make political-electoral propaganda in favor of the Morena candidates.
By a majority of five votes, the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF gave its endorsement to the project of magistrate Janine Otálora Malassis, who stressed that the decision presented has the objective of preventing irreparable damage to the equity of electoral contests and guaranteeing that political power does not is used against or in favor of a certain political force or candidacy.
With its ruling, the Electoral Tribunal revokes the resolution issued by the Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE), which declared the application of precautionary measures requested by the National Action (PAN) and Movimiento Ciudadano parties against the president inadmissible. , due to the expressions he made in the conferences on May 9 and 11 where he calls to vote for the Morenista standard-bearers to achieve a majority in Congress, which is also interpreted as a call to vote for the party's candidates icing on the cake that next June 4 they will contend for the governorships of the State of Mexico and Coahuila.
The measure gives a term to the Presidency of the Republic so that in 24 hours it eliminates the publications that contain the audiovisuals and/or stenographic versions of the conferences of the mentioned days in any official platform.
In the event that President López Obrador fails to comply with these precautionary measures, the INE Complaints Commission may, directly and without any formality, order any public or private concessionaire to stop transmitting or disseminating spots or video and audio materials that violate this ordering.
INE AND PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
On the other hand and unanimously, the INE Complaints and Complaints Commission approved this Friday to implement precautionary measures to the Presidency of the Republic to withdraw from its social networks, as well as from any other electronic platform and internet portal, under its domain, the statements made on the morning of May 24, referring to various social programs in the context of the electoral campaign in the State of Mexico, since they could jeopardize the principles of equity and impartiality in the ongoing local electoral process.
Consequently, it was ordered to take the necessary steps to remove the denounced material from the audio, audiovisual and/or stenographic files, within a period that may not exceed 6 hours, and the head of the Center for the Production of Information Programs was linked. and Specials (CEPROPIE) and to another public servant who participates in any official information format, in order to refrain from presenting, disseminating and making available to the satellite signal, any promotion where you invite to vote, directly or indirectly. .
Likewise, the president is urged to refrain from ruling on electoral issues, such as those registered in his conferences on May 9 and 11 where he refers to not voting for the opposition.
