The president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed during his morning conference this Friday that he will sue César de Castro, lawyer for the former Secretary of Public Security, Genaro García Luna.
“Yes, I am going to file the lawsuit against García Luna's lawyer. Now they took a photo that was later taken from them with a Mexican lawyer and his wife, who are very opposed to us, surely linked to the right-wing eastern bloc, ”said the president from the National Palace.
During the meeting with the media, the president showed a photograph of García Luna with the lawyer Gina Avilés, which, according to the president, shows that he is linked to the opposition of the current government.
The demand will be made through the State under the accusation of non-material damage, and even the reparation of the damage will be requested, which according to López Obrador, the resources that could be obtained from the trial will be destined to the victims of the war against drug trafficking promoted by the former president, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa.
The head of the federal Executive emphasized that not everyone, least of all a foreigner, can question the integrity and honesty of the president of Mexico.
