HYATT HOTEL ROOF COLLAPSES UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MX. - A section of the work of the Hyatt hotel to be built in the center of Playa del Carmen area collapsed when a concrete mixture applied ; fortunately no worker was injured.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the development located near the beach , on 26th Street , where the Hyatt hotel chain is built . Elements came to the place of Civil Protection , who initially denied access , trying manager of the work, the engineer Héctor López Espinosa, to hide the accident.

According to data provided by the Directorate of Civil Protection, the accident occurred while the concrete was placed in the ceiling slabs and reinforced rods, because it was not sufficiently supported with idlers , reflecting the lack of supervision responsible for the work .

The timber placed below what would be the roof, beat the time of pouring the mixture, which was emptied by special equipment , so there were workers in the area. The site where the accident occurred adjacent to the beach is located , so being greater the collapse could have reached the swimmers that are recharged in the perimeter fence of development.

Civil Protection suspension seals placed in an area of approximately 20 square meters.
