The governor of Zacatecas, Alejandro Tello Cristerna,
and his wife, Cristina Rodríguez Pacheco, proposed chemical castration for
rapists, as a punishment measure for those who commit violent sexual crimes against
minors.
For her part, Cristina Rodríguez, head of the DIF in
Zacatecas, condemned the femicide of Sanjuana and called on legislators to
toughen sentences and to consider chemical castration; Alejandro Tello, the
governor, indicated that there are no clues about the identity of the crime's
author

"I think that before thinking about pushing an
agenda that legislates in favor of abortion or other things, our incoming
legislators and future policy makers for child protection should work and
legislate on issues like this, legislate much harsher sentences, sentences
longer, or consider life imprisonment, penalties to ensure that misfortunes how
are you do not happen again, "said Rodriguez," chemical castration
can be an effective tool to prevent many sexual offenders to be released
reincídate. "
Faced with questions about the ineffectiveness to
solve the problem of insecurity and the few advances to know the identity of
the murderer (s) of the 9-year-old San Juana girl, the governor blamed the
climate for violence on the citizens.
They are exceeding us because we are not closing
ranks, because we do not denounce and because we are being reactive, because as
a society there is someone who does that atrocity, "he said.
Alejandro Tello did not rule out his campaign promise
to resign as governor, before the social claim that social networks have
exploded against the president.
That his act is totally overrun and limited and is not
appropriate, look, gentlemen, if that is for the good of Zacatecas, without any
problem, "he said.
Various social organizations are preparing a massive
demonstration for this Wednesday, where they will demand justice from the
government for San Juana and stop the wave of insecurity.
